What was the highlight of Hotel Chalet La Meridiana
A cosy hotel good for stopover
Comfortable clean, warm, quiet room (facing the back) A kettle in the room, could make a cup of tea :-) Lots of antics, beautiful. Convenient car park at the back.
Could hear the guy next room talking, bad luck, never experienced a guy can talk so long, non stop. We paid the tourist tax (to the student receptionist) when we checked in as we said we could just leave in the morning. However, in the morning at the car park, when we were preparing to leave, a lady from the hotel, asked about the tourist tax. It was a bit embarrassing...but no big issue.

Fantastic & cozy place (but bring cash to pay the overnight fee)
Amazing, cozy ambiente! If you like to have a ambience with character, a lot of wood, old nostalgia elements, old paintings and pictures and so one...this is the perfect place. Everything looks like from another time in a good sense and the place got a lot of character. We were really amazed about the superb shower and the bathroom (everything made out of wood), the comfortable beds, the spacious room and also the beautiful very cosy social/breakfast room downstairs. There is a free parking space and 24/7 check-in. Beautiful place! 10 of of 10.
The lady with the blond "Amelie"-Haircut at the reception got really angry when we could not pay the local overnight-stay-fee by cash. It was 2 € pP. We wanted to pay by credit card like everywhere in Italy. In Italy you usually don't need cash anymore because even in the most distant or strange places you can pay by credit card so we thought it is not an issue. Anyway, she refused payment by credit card. I offered a bank transfer to the IBAN of the hotel. She refused that also. In a third try I offered to transfer to her privat bank account the 4 Euro so she could pay out the sum from her private pocket into the cash register. But "No, no, no" and the typical Italian "get out of my eyes"- gestures. Really unfriendly! So first we were really glad to have spent a night in the really beautiful hotel but after this experience we left in a "WTF was this?!"-mood the place. Sorry, thus had to be mentioned. Nobody should threat like this a customer in my opinion, especially as we offered viable solutions for the matter.
